Rick “The Gladiator” Glenn Claims WSOF Featherweight Title

On Saturday June 21st inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, World Series of Fighting hosted their 10th event that would air on NBC Sports. Fighting in the co-main event of the evening, out of Roufusport , Rick “The Gladiator” Glenn  would square off against WSOF featherweight champion Georgi Karakhanyan for the 145lb belt.

This bout had fight of the night potential from the moment the fight started. Karakhanyan , was able to get a takedown early in the first round making the reach of Glenn a non-factor . Later in the first round Glenn found himself trapped in a deep armbar submission attempt from Karakhanyan, however Glenn was calm and collective and found his way free from the submission that would have tapped out most other fighters. Once free, Glenn landed some shots to his grounded opponent.

In the second round it was all Glenn simply dominating Karakhanyan everywhere. Landing big shots especially on the ground and though it looked as though Glenn had expended a lot of energy in the round it was all worth it. When Karakhanyan sat down before the start of the third; that was it, his corner threw in the towel as Karakhanyan was unable to continue due to a broken rib from the powerful strikes “The Gladiator” delivered to the body in the second round. Rick “The Gladiator” Glenn would be declared the winner via TKO and become the new WSOF featherweight champion.
