Combat Corner Professional Erik “Newbreed” Koch Dominates at UFC 170

On Saturday February 22nd the UFC returned to the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada to bring us UFC 170.  However, some fans may have missed the most exciting finish of the entire card when Combat Corner Professional Erik “Newbreed” Koch, made short work of his opponent Rafaello Oliveira in his UFC lightweight debut.

Koch, one time top ranked featherweight in the UFC, decided to move up a weight class to fight at lightweight for the first time since being signed by the UFC on Saturday night and showed that he is there to stay. Koch dropped Oliveira with precision left early in the first round. Oliveira quickly recovered and was back up but again Koch saw the opportunity and again dropped Oliveira with an even more powerful left, this time Koch swarmed in to land some pin point ground and pound and the referee was forced to step in and call an end to the bout, giving Koch the TKO victory at just 1:34 of the very first round.

Koch currently is just twenty five years old and already has a record of 14-3 as a professional and continues to be an exciting fighter to watch. At 155lbs Koch looks dangerous; he is a fast and powerful fighter that the rest of the lightweight division should be looking out for.
